Premier Showmen club decorates valentines for local nursing homes

The Premier Showmen 4-H Club held their second meeting of the year on Sunday, Feb. 6 at the 4-H food booth.
The meeting was called to order by the Vice President, Sydney Sanders at 6:06 p.m. The Pledge of Allegiance was led by Reese Teeters, and the 4-H pledge was led by Braydon Cummings.
To start the meeting, the members participated in leadership games. The club was divided into two groups. The object of the game was to be the first team to have every person in the team unwrap a Dumdum with gloves on. The other game was to put a cookie on your forehead and get it into your mouth without using your hands.
Then, Halle Hamilton, the secretary, did roll call. Each member stated their favorite flavor of ice cream.
Next, club members completed a community service project. Each club member made three Valentine’s Day cards for local nursing home residents.
During this time, the Cloverbuds were dismissed for their activity. The Cloverbuds made three large Valentine’s Day posters to be taken to the nursing homes with the valentine cards.
During new business, several dates were announced regarding the Highland County Fair, 4-H camp and the Highland County 4-H calendar.
Finally, for species work, the members divided into groups according to the species they show. Each group had to draw a picture of their animals and label the parts.
