Premier Showmen 4-H Club showcases skills in educational demonstrations

The Premier Showmen 4-H Club transformed its July 19 meeting into an evening of learning, leadership, and public speaking as members presented their annual educational demonstrations. A cornerstone of the 4-H program, demonstrations help youth develop confidence, communication skills, and leadership while providing an opportunity to educate others on topics they are passionate about.

Members shared their knowledge on a wide variety of subjects, highlighting the diversity of interests and skills within the club. Demonstrations included Addie Johnson presenting the basics of riding a horse, Coy Rom demonstrating how to properly saddle a horse, Graden Johnson discussing PTO shaft safety, Grant Johnson explaining how to read a corn planter monitor, Tate Richmond teaching what a sheep judge looks for during showmanship, Wyatt Osborn covering the basics of giving oral reasons in a livestock judging contest, and Blake Osborn creating a homemade volcano.

Additional demonstrations featured Colton Heckathorn explaining how to test a battery, Darcee Scholtis demonstrating how to extract DNA, Emma Heckathorn making slime, Bex Mustard creating a bird feeder using a pine cone, Carter Warnock sharing the basics of fly fishing, Christian Cummings preparing a delicious four-step dessert, and Gracie Whaley demonstrating hair braiding techniques.

The evening continued with Jada Johnson highlighting the importance of mental health awareness, Kinlee Case demonstrating how to decorate shorts, Liam Frost teaching the fundamentals of becoming a successful golfer, Mason Warnock explaining how to string a weed eater, and Payton Luschek showing how to make a bird feeder from a milk jug.

The Premier Showmen 4-H Club congratulates all of its members for the time, effort, and preparation they invested in their presentations. These demonstrations not only showcased the many talents and interests of the club's members but also reinforced the 4-H mission of developing confident young leaders through hands-on learning, public speaking, and community engagement. By sharing their knowledge with fellow members, these youth continue to embody the 4-H pledge of using their heads, hearts, hands, and health to make the best better.
