Premier Showmen 4-H Club readies for 2021 Highland County Fair

The Premier Showmen 4-H Club held a meeting on Sunday, Aug. 29 at the Osborne family farm. The meeting was called to order by Vice President Sydney Sanders at 6 p.m.

The Pledge of Allegiance was led by Carly Sanders and the 4-H pledge was led by Hannah Hamilton.

The members participated in a leadership game. The object of the game was to keep a big ball in the air. After the game, Gavin Puckett gave a safety report on seat belts. Next, Avery Teeters gave an announcement about the club community service project, a gift card basket for a fellow 4-H member.

Five members gave their demonstrations. Halle Hamilton did her demonstration on how to find your dominate eye. Hannah Hamilton did her demonstration of how to make a friendship bracelet. Gavin Puckett gave his demonstration on how to tie a fishing hook to string. Avery Teeters gave her demonstration on how to make orange sherbet punch. Last, Reese Teeters gave his demonstration on how to shoot a basketball.

During new business, several dates were reviewed regarding the Highland County Fair, which is Sept. 5-11.

Next, for species work, advisor Jake Osborne discussed sportsmanship. During this time, the Cloverbuds were dismissed for their activity, which was making decorations for the Cloverbud booth at the fair. The motion to adjourn was moved by Landry Teeters.

The Premier Showmen 4-H Club wishes all Jr. Fair participants good luck at the Highland County Fair.
