On Aug. 16, Premier Showmen 4-H Club poultry members participated in a poultry showmanship clinic led by Wesley Kelch of the Ohio Poultry Association.

During the clinic, Kelch taught members the fundamentals of successfully showing a poultry project. Youth learned proper techniques for handling their birds, presenting them to a judge, and demonstrating their knowledge and skills in the show ring.

Members also had the opportunity to put what they learned into practice by using stuffed chickens to work through poultry showmanship techniques. This hands-on experience allowed members to practice proper handling and positioning while gaining confidence for the upcoming Highland County Fair.

Premier Showmen 4-H Club would like to thank Wesley Kelch and the Ohio Poultry Association for taking the time to share their knowledge with our members and helping them prepare for a successful fair.
