The Premier Showmen 4-H Club held their fourth meeting of the year Sunday, March 13 at the 4-H food booth.

The meeting was called to order by the president, Wyatt Osborn, at 6:04 p.m. The Pledge of Allegiance was led by Micah Combs, American flag bearer, and the 4-H pledge by Addie Johnson, 4-H flag bearer.

At the beginning of the meeting, members participated in a leadership game called “Honey, if you love me you will smile.” In order to play this game, the club members made a circle with their chairs. Next, one member was chosen to stand in the middle. The person in the middle had to sit down on another person’s lap, and say,” Honey, if you love me you will smile.” The object of the game was not to smile when the person in the middle sat on your lap.

After the game, Mercy Combs, safety officer, gave her report on farm safety. Then Landry Teeters, health officer, gave her report on the COVID-19 vaccine. Secretary Avery Teeters, did roll call by having each member say their favorite animal.

During new business, updates were given on the Highland County Fair and 4-H calendar. Members moved and passed a motion to contribute to the Highland County Society for Children and Adults. All available members will present the check at the telethon fundraiser on March 30 at 7 p.m.

During this time, the Cloverbuds were dismissed for their activity, which was learning about the life cycle of chickens. Cloverbuds colored a worksheet, looked for the yolk in an egg using a flashlight and saw live chicks.

Before adjourning, all members participated in species work.

The Premier Showmen 4-H club will meet again April 3 at 6 p.m.
