Premier Showmen 4-H Club

The Premier Showmen 4-H Club held their first meeting of the year on Sunday, Jan. 23 at the 4-H food booth.

The meeting was called to order by the president, Abby Dhume, at 6:02 p.m. The Pledge of Allegiance was led by Luke Dhume, and the 4-H pledge by Wyatt Osborn.

The members participated in a leadership game. The club was divided into four groups. The object of the game was to be the first team to bring a specific item to the Vice President as she called out random items, like a shoe.

After the game, Reese Teeters gave the treasurer’s report. Then, the members shared their accomplishments since the Highland County Fair. The secretary, Halle Hamilton, did roll call. Each member stated their name, age, grade, school and project.

During new business several dates were given regarding the Highland County Fair and the Highland County 4-H calendar. Next, for species work, the members broke into groups and discussed club activities.

Reports were given on ideas for Fun Day, Community Service, and Fundraiser activities for the club this year. During this time, the Cloverbuds were dismissed for their activity, which was coloring paper hearts for the nursing home.

The Premier Showmen 4-H club will meet again on Feb. 6 at 6 p.m.
