The Premier Showmen 4-H Club held their third meeting of the year Sunday, Feb. 26 at the 4-H food booth.
The meeting was called to order by the Vice President, Sydney Sanders at 6 p.m. The Pledge of Allegiance was led by Landry Teeters, and the 4-H pledge was led by Carly Sanders.
At the beginning of the meeting, members participated in a leadership game called, “Honey, if you love me, you will smile.” One member would sit on another member’s lap and say, “Honey, if you love me, you will smile.” If the member smiled, they were it.
After the game, the Vice President, Sydney Sanders, did roll call. Each member stated their name.
During new business, officer elections were held. The 2023 Premier Showmen officers are as follows: President, Sydney Sanders; Vice President, Carly Sanders; Secretary, Wyatt Osborn; Treasurer, Avery Teeters; News Reporter, Shannon Combs; Recreation Officer, Blake Osborn; Health Officer, Jada White; Safety Officer, Grant Johnson; Club Historian, Mercy Combs; Community Officer, Mason Warnock; American Flag Bearer, Addie Johnson; 4-H Flag Bearer, Sadie Warnock.
Following officer elections, club members worked on species work. During this time, the Cloverbuds were dismissed for their activity, which was making “what I love about 4-H” clovers.
Following species work, the members split into four groups to design yard and window displays for 4-H Week decorating contests. After the meeting was adjourned, all the members celebrated Mason Warnock’s 13th birthday.
The Premier Showmen 4-H club will meet again March 12 at 6 p.m.
