Plans unveiled for inaugural This Is Me gala; First State Bank makes contribution

First State Bank recently donated $5,000 to This Is Me, a gala event for individuals in Highland County with developmental disabilities who are 16 years and up. The This is Me committee has partnered with Highco, Inc., as well as sponsors in the community like First State Bank, to put this event on. 

The inaugural event will be held March 15 at Fairfield Local Schools. The event will include a red carpet entrance; “wingmen” to assist guests; visiting therapy dogs; dancing; bingo; sports/activity gym; appetizers/snacks; door prizes including a TV, iPad, tablets, karaoke machine and cash; and much more.

Highco will be offering day-of-event services like hair and makeup for attendees, as well as a tranquility room for caregivers that bring a guest, where caregivers can receive a massage, manicure and have a snack while their guest enjoys the evening. 

Guest services before the event will be offered to guests at no cost. There will be a dress boutique held at Highco, Inc on Feb. 16 from 2:30-5:30 p.m., Feb. 17 from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. and Feb. 18 by appointment only. Alterations will be offered on Feb. 16 and 17.  

Tuxedo rental will be offered by Leap of Faith Bridal with a limited number of tuxedo rentals. 

Day-of services include: Beauty Bar for the ladies at Highco, Inc. Hair, makeup and skincare will be available from 2:30-5:30 p.m. Merle Norman Cosmetics will be offering services by appointment only; call (937) 840-0701.
