Paxton Theatre seeks bands to compete at the Battle of the Paxton

This summer, the doors of The Paxton Theatre will open to help locate the next great local band.

Maybe you're a rock band looking for more exposure? Or a country band that wants to perform in the home of Paint Valley Jamboree? The Battle of the Paxton is a celebration of all music where bands will compete until a winner is crowned by the audience and then have the opportunity to play their very own show and win $500.

For three weeks, beginning July 11, bands will compete head-to-head, singing three songs each. Guest advisers will help the audience in narrowing down the winner, but ultimately the audience decides.

The three winners from each week will then compete on Aug. 1, the final round, for a chance at the grand prize: $500 and the opportunity to headline their very own show at The Paxton Theatre on Aug. 15.

Bands interested in competing should visit www.PaxtonTheatre.com by June 29 to register.
