Parker earns Girl Scouts Gold Award

Heather Parker of Greenfield recently completed her Gold Award Project, the highest award given to Girl Scouts, by completing a pamphlet on how to care for your dogs, cats and guinea pigs. 

According to www.girlscouts.org, the Gold Award “is the most prestigious award … and the most difficult to earn” for Girl Scouts, who must complete a seven-step project to solve a community problem.

Copies of Parker’s pamphlet were given to the Highland County Humane Society and the Fayette County Humane Society to be distributed to new pet owners. 

Parker is a junior at McClain High School and an Ambassador with Girl Scout Troop #1382, led by Troop Leader Michele Dodds.
