The Operation Christmas Child organization for South Central Ohio will host a “full-circle speaker” event Friday, Aug. 10 from 7-8:30 p.m.

A "full-circle speaker" is someone who received a shoebox gift and is now living in the United States sharing their personal story of how a simple shoebox gift changed their lives. This event’s speaker, Nadia Karnatova, grew up in Ukraine in a large family. Although God always provided for them, they had very little. One Christmas when she was around 9 years old, Karnatova and all of her siblings received a shoebox from a local church. It was the first moment she felt God’s true presence.
When Karnatova opened her shoebox, she saw a brand-new Barbie doll with pink shoes. She had seen a Barbie on TV before but never thought she would have one. Through the generosity of strangers, God gave Karnatova’s family hope, strengthening their faith in Him.
In 2000, Nadia’s family moved to the United States. Today, Nadia lives in Ohio and loves to pack shoeboxes with her three children.

The first 100 attendees will have the opportunity to pack a shoebox gift. A love offering will be accepted to help pay the shipping costs for these shoeboxes.
