Wilmington foodies can now find a new mobile food choice, Doc’s Dogs, that will provide them with great Americana dogs without hitting the stadiums.

Doc’s Dogs Mobile Food Cart will launch in the Wilmington area Saturday, April 6, offering all-American hot dogs; Doc’s “prescriptions” (specialty dog) of the day; deals and giveaways.

The first stop of the cart will be April 6 from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. in the parking lot of First State Bank, across from the Kettering Hospital. Official ribbon-cutting will be at noon. There will be free mini dogs for kids and a balloon artist will be on hand, plus fun giveaways will be offered.

Later in the evening, Doc’s will open back up downtown on North South Street near Ole Town Tavern from 7-10 p.m., lit up with more giveaways, music and delicious late-night hot dogs.

Created by Doc Jeff Schussler and Kim Law of Wilmington, the cart will offer a selection of all-beef favorite Big City dogs loaded with toppings and made to order. Prices range from $6 to $9 and include mini dogs for kids. Make it a meal with Cracker Jacks, peanuts or your favorite chips and water. Some of the selections include the Detroit Dog, the Ohio Dog, the Chicago Dog, and of course you can always choose the Naked Dog, just to name a few.

“We are thrilled to be opening an iconic food cart just like the carts many of us remember from days gone by,” Schussler said. “Growing up in Detroit, food carts were on every corner. We’re excited to bring the smells and flavors of a good coney dog cooking up with friendly and fast walk-up service to Wilmington.”

For details on the cart’s location, as well as for more information on featured specials, follow and like the cart on Facebook at facebook.com/docsdogs or go to www.eatdocsdogs.com.
