National Vietnam War Veterans Day to be observed March 29 in Hillsboro
A program commemorating National Vietnam War Veterans Day will be held Friday, March 29 at noon at the Hillsboro Eagles.
Retired U.S. Air Force Col. Ronald Sampson, a local Vietnam War veteran, will be one of the guest speakers.
The event is open to the public. Any Vietnam War veterans who wish to bring memorabilia for display are welcome to do so. The “Fallen Sons of Highland County” book and plaque memorializing those killed in the war will also be on display at the Eagles.
Following the program (weather permitting), those in attendance are invited to walk over to the Veterans Memorial outside the Highland County Courthouse, where the Highland County Honor Guard will perform a ceremony in memory of the local soldiers killed during the Vietnam War.
