Mowrystown holds village-wide clean up day

Lead Summary
By
Ashley Frazer-Mowrystown FFA Reporter
In preparation for the holiday parade, a clean-up day was held in the Village of Mowrystown on Saturday, Nov. 28.   A total of 30 volunteers picked up trash on Main and High Streets, as well as the Diehl Park areas.  Clint Wells, Kevin Mosely, and Klayton Juillerat volunteered their time to install 35 holiday flags in the village as well.  Volunteers consisted of students from Whiteoak Jr./Sr. High, Village Council Members, Southern Ohio Joint Fire District, area 4-H clubs, and Mowrystown FFA members. After everyone finished picking up trash, a lunch was prepared at the Presbyterian Church by Ruth Ann Richey, Diana Stephan, and Amy Chambers. Food for the clean-up day was funded through the Learn & Serve Ohio Grant. A big thank you to the Village of Mowrystown for providing the dumpster and to Dori Bishop, Highland County Recycling Outreach Specialist, for providing the orange vests, gloves, and trash bags.[[In-content Ad]]
