MHS graduate named Sailor of the Day

Christopher “Logan” Wise, formerly of Greenfield, was recently honored as Sailor of the Day by the U.S. Navy.
On Aug. 2, Wise was recognized as Sailor of the Day for being an extremely dedicated sailor to the mission of the USS Nimitz. He was chosen from a diverse group of deserving personnel on the basis of his outstanding attitude toward the Naval Service, exemplary work ethic and unparalleled initiative.
As a result of his selection, he received a Captain’s coin, a Captain’s letter of commendation, head of the line privileges throughout the ship, dined with the Leading Chief Petty Officer and had the opportunity to sit in the Captain’s chair on the Bridge.

Wise is a 2010 graduate of McClain High School and attended The College of Mount Saint Joseph and Northern Kentucky University before joining the United States Navy in July 2012. He graduated boot camp in Great Lakes, Ill., near Chicago, and went for his schooling in Florida before being stationed on the USS Nimitz in Everett, Wash. He is currently deployed on the USS Nimitz.
Wise is the son of Cheryl Wise and Scott and Julie Wise of Greenfield. His grandparents are Raymond and Kay Smith of Greenfield and John R. Wise of Treasure Island, Fla.
A letter to Wise's parents stated that they should be very proud of their son’s significant achievement, and that he is an integral asset to his team and to the United States Navy.
