Greene Countrie Towne Queen Kendall Pollard, Jr. Miss First Attendant Presley Patterson, Kerigan, Tobby and Niki Pollard recently spent an afternoon cleaning and weeding at the Therapeutic Enabling Garden at Adena Greenfield Medical Center.
The garden was established as a sensory garden to use during treatment with Adena patients and as an area for patients to visit with their friends, family and pets. It is a wonderful tool to use as therapeutic technique to address several skills, including, but not limited to, accessible gardening using high- and low-rised beds, sensory stimulation with various things to taste, touch and see, and to address community mobility skills navigating outdoor barriers to community, home and leisure accessibility.

Last year, the AGMC Volunteers purchased a glider, chair and an ottoman for the garden. This year, they are replacing the pergola and some new pavers to make the area more safe for the patients.
The girls are planning on coming back and planting flowers later.
Many thanks to the Pollards for heading this. The rehab unit and the volunteers also want to thank Greg Garman of Garman Feeds for donating the mulch and McClish Plants Plus Greenhouse for the hanging baskets.
