From Me To You celebrates building purchase with ribbon cutting
From Me To You, located in downtown Hillsboro, celebrated their business’s success and their recent building purchase with a ribbon cutting from the Highland County Chamber of Commerce Friday, March 10.
In attendance to help celebrate were family, friends, members of the community and Chamber Ambassadors, officers and staff.
From Me To You is owned and operated by Brenda Vincent Hensgen and is located at 140 South High Street in Hillsboro.
From Me To You is a small gift boutique that sells home décor, candles and wax melts, clothing, handbags and wallets, Beekman 1802 bath and body products with goat milk, jewelry, garden flags, doormats, porch boards, toys, memorial lanterns and more.
“I have worked in retail most of my last 30 years and have always thought of having a small business on my own,” said Hensgen. “I retired early in 2019, and my husband and I went to visit Beekman 1802 in Sharon Springs, N.Y. As soon as I stepped out of their mercantile shop, I had made up my mind that I wanted a small shop to carry small quantities of as many different types of merchandise as possible.”

“I want to thank my husband Dave, who has given me the chance and opportunity to realize my dream,” Hensgen said. “My daughter, Trish Warner, is the manager of the shop and is my biggest cheerleader, and I would be lost without her.”
Brenda and Dave recently purchased the building that houses their shop and are in the process of renovating the apartments on the second and third floors.
“We also want to thank all of our amazing family, friends and customers that come into the shop,” said Hensgen. “We are excited to have bought our building and continue to grow in our beautiful historic district of Hillsboro.”?
