McCubbin to perform at Alley 21

Southern Ohio native Wyatt McCubbin is set to perform at Alley 21 Saturday night at 9 p.m.

According to his website, McCubbin, a 19-year-old country singer originally from Selma, Ohio, performs traditional country music and is inspired by classic country artists such as Waylon Jennings, Vern Gosdin and Hank Williams, Jr.

In 2007, McCubbin was hurt during a seventh grade football game, severely injuring his arm. He began playing the guitar as therapy and has been involved with music since then.

McCubbin was featured on a Waylon Jennings tribute album, which was recorded when he was just 15, according to his website. McCubbin's album "Bootleg" is available on iTunes and Amazon. He resides in Nashville, where he writes songs, and he performs around the Midwest.

McCubbin also hosts his own radio show on Classic Country Radio on Wednesday nights from 6-8 p.m., and he is featured on the Chubby Howard Show on weekends, according to wyattmccubbin.com.

There is no cover charge for McCubbin's show at Alley 21 Saturday night.
