Join us for a Make a Blanket Day (MABD Saturday,  Oct. 24, at the Sardinia Church of Christ, 7130 Bachman Drive, Sardinia, 10 a.m.-2 p.m. This will be the last workshop for 2009, but the project will resume again around February 2010.
Project Linus is a volunteer organization which contributes new handmade blankets to provide comfort and security to seriously ill and traumatized children. After the last workshop in June 2009, a total of 122 completed blankets were donated for Adams, Brown, and Highland County area.
Requirements for blankets are simple:  all blankets must be new, handmade, and washable. They may be crocheted, fringed, knitted, sewn, tied, or quilted.  Our website, www.projectlinus.org offers free patterns and links to other sites supporting Project Linus.
Please bring supplies for the type of blanket you will be making, such as yarn, knitting needles, crochet hooks, sewing machine, or whatever it is you use.  Minimal supplies will be offered such as yarn and fabric for afghans and quilts.  No babysitting will be provided.
We will also be accepting donations of blankets you may already have finished; or, if you are cleaning out your stash, we would love to be the recipient of any new, kid-friendly pieces of flannel, cotton, yarns or any batting you may have lying around.
If you would be interested in making a blanket to comfort a child, please contact Chapter Coordinator Elaine McCormick at projectlinusoh@gmail.com or Carol Chambers at 937-927-5742 (email at craftylady4873@att.net) for more information.
