Lynchburg Memorial Day program

The Lynchburg Memorial Day program will be held on Sunday, May 25 beginning with a parade from the Old School Park to the Lynchburg Masonic Cemetery.
Lineup will be 11:30 a.m., and the parade will commence at noon, with bagpipes playing the procession.
A program hosted by the Lynchburg Masonic Lodge will be held after the parade at the cemetery will BSA Troop 120 presenting the Flag and lowering it to half-staff.
The Highland County Honor Guard will then present a 21-gun salute and play "Taps."
Guest speakers will be Shawn Carter, U.S. Army (ret.) and Elaine Williams from the Lynchburg Historical Society to present a biography of a Lynchburg resident who lost his life in defense of our Country.
After the program at the cemetery, the Lynchburg Village Officials will host a picnic at the Veterans Memorial at Agnes Park, located in the center of town, where they will honor local veteran, Steve Bailey.
The community is invited to attend and enjoy the day in Lynchburg as we remember those who have fallen as well as those who have served.
