The Lynchburg Lions Club held a special meeting Sept. 23 at the Lions Building in Lynchburg to hear information about the upcoming election in November.
The guest speaker was Michelle Swallen, who is the director of the Highland County Board of Elections. She discussed voter registration, absentee ballot procedures, poll worker duties, ballot security and other pertinent issues.
Swallen was accompanied by four staff workers who assist her daily with training and various duties in the Board of Elections office.
The Lions Club thanks Swallen and her staff for the excellent presentation.
