The Lynchburg Lions Club recently sponsored a "Peace Poster" contest in conjunction with Lions Clubs International. This contest encouraged students who were in middle school age categories to create a poster that would promote world peace. This year's theme was "Vision of Peace." The Lynchburg Lions Club presented the top three local winners with certificates and cash awards of $25, $15, and $10, respectively.
The first-place winner was Lindsey Lawson, the second-place winner was Megan Runyon, and third place went to Brandon McCammon. Lindsey's winning poster was then forwarded to the Lions District 13-J competition, where it competed with entries from the other Lions Clubs.
Lindsey is a sixth-grade student at Lynchburg-Clay Middle School and is 12 years old. The Lynchburg Lions Club congratulates Lindsey for her entry and her interest in promoting world peace. Lindsey's poster was selected to be in the "Final Four" competition at the district level. A student from Jamestown was selected as the district winner. This is the first time a student from Lynchburg-Clay has advanced to the District's final evaluation.[[In-content Ad]]
