Lynchburg Car Show winners recognized

The annual Car Show, sponsored by the Lynchburg Lions Club and Martinsville IOOF, was held on Saturday, Oct. 10 at the Lynchburg Lions Club Park.
Awards were presented to the Best of Show winner as well as the Best Ford, Best Chrysler, Best General Motors, Best “Other” and Oldest Car exhibitors. Plaques were also given to the other “Top Twenty” winners.
The following winners were announced at the Car Show:
• The Best of Show trophy, donated by Southern Hills Community Bank, was won by Frank Terwilliger with a 1946 Chevy.
• The Best General Motors car plaque, donated by Jerry Haag Motors, Inc., was won by Glenn Moore with a 1948 Chevy.
• The Best Ford plaque, donated by Bill Marine Ford, Inc., was won by Cliff and Charlene Robbins with a 1940 Ford.
• The Best Chrysler car was exhibited by John Setty with a Duster. The plaque donor was Peebles Chrysler - Dodge - Jeep.
• The Best “Other” plaque, donated by Sherwood Auto and Camper Sales, was won by Lloyd Reynolds with a 1966 VFW.
• The Oldest Original vehicle award, donated by Terry’s Pizza and Grocery, went to Peg Boecher with a 1941 Dodge.

Other “Top Twenty” plaque winners included Nick Barker, Steve Tumbleson, Jerry Hammons, David Elam, Richard Hildebrandt, Cindy Myers, Brad and Rhonda Brackett, Larry Teboe, Eric Barnett, Ronnie Shriver, Royce Shiveley, Cliff and Jean Barnes, Zach Sadarat, Richard Kirk and Mark Bond.
Top Twenty plaque donors included Roger Williams Auto Sales, Turner and Sons Funeral Homes, P3 Total Nail Care, Sonner’s Barber Shop, Buford Farmers’ Institute, Sunrise Bakery of New Vienna, American Way Tax and Accounting, Auto Tech Sales, Westview Motors Inc., Lynchburg Historical Society, Martinsville Lions Club, Hillsboro Lions Club, Jo’s Vintage Barber Shop, Larry’s Party Shop and Stephanie’s Top Dog Pet Spa and Center.
All exhibitors received dash plaques as a token of appreciation for their participation. A big thanks is extended to all the sponsors and supporters of the show, as well as congratulations to all the winners.
The Lynchburg Lions Club, Martinsville Star-Orphan Hope Lodge #182 IOOF and Encampment #70 IOOF provided dash plaques for every exhibitor.
The Lynchburg Lions Club provided the food, and the Lions Club and Martinsville IOOF cosponsored the show. All proceeds will be used for these two groups’ community service projects.
