Lynchburg Car Show winners announced

The annual Lynchburg Car Show was held on Sunday, Sept. 21 at the Lynchburg Lions Club Park. Awards were presented to the Best of Show winner as well as the Best Ford, Best Chrysler, Best General Motors, Best "Other" and "Oldest Car" exhibitors. Plaques were also given to the other top 20 winners. All exhibitors received dash plaques as a token of appreciation for their participation.
The Best of Show trophy, donated by Southern Hills Community Bank, was won by Carol Jones with a 1958 Corvette. The best General Motors car plaque, donated by Jerry Haag Motors, Inc., was won by Frank Terwilliger with a 1946 Chevy. The Best Ford plaque, donated by Bill Marine Ford, Inc., went to Cliff and Jean Barnes with a 1953 Mercury Monterey. The Best Chrysler car was exhibited by Wade McKee with a 1970 Duster, winning a plaque donated by Bob Malcom Chrysler - Dodge - Jeep. The best "other" plaque, donated by Sherwood Auto and Camper Sales, was won by Tim Davis with a 1991 Nissan. The oldest car award, donated by Terry's Pizza and Grocery, went to Dave Manning with a 1924 Chevy.

Other "top 20" plaque winners included Bob Dollenmeyer, Lloyd Reynolds, L.G. Shaffer, Zach Sedarat, Ray Martin, Tom Moler, Victor and Debbie Colins, Roger Robinson, Benny Combs, Greg Shultz, Carl Alexander, Ken Richardson, Larry Teboe, Terry Cole, Manning, Duke Bowman, Denny and Mercy Gantz, Nick Lindsey, Bob and Marge Campbell and Bob Hammens.
Top 20 plaque donors included Dave's Computer Service and Repair, Turner and Son Funeral Homes, Martinsville IOFF Lodge #182, P3 Total Nail Care, Sonner's Barber Shop, Buford Farmers' Institute, Sunrise Bakery of New Vienna, American Way Tax and Accounting, Auto Tech Service Center, Westview Motors, Lynchburg Historical Society, Martinsville Lions Club, Bob Malcom Chrysler - Dodge - Jeep, IOFF Encampment #70 and the Lynchburg Lions Club. The Lynchburg Lions Club also provided dash plaques for every exhibitor.
The Lynchburg Lions Club provided the food, and the Lions Club and Martinsville IOFF cosponsored the show. All proceeds will be used for these two groups' community service projects.
