Local youths compete in Ohio State Fair Livestock Judging Contest

Seventeen youth representing Highland County 4-H competed in the Ohio State Fair Livestock Judging Contest.

The contest had over 140 youth from across Ohio judging.

The junior team of Emma Yochum, Connor Yochum, Claire Winkle and Brayden Cummings was third overall. The fifth overall junior team was comprised of Anzli Beatty, Addison Goddard, Larah Henson and Paisley Pryor. The eighth overall senior team was Carter Boyd, Blake Herdman and Corbin Winkle.

Additionally, many exhibitors placed as individuals.

Those placing were:

• Goats (Juniors): third place, Claire Winkle; fourth place, Emma Yochum; ninth place, Paisley Pryor; 10th place, Brayden Cummings.

• Hogs (Juniors): sixth place, Emma Yochum; eighth place, Addison Goddard; 10th place, Claire Winkle.

• Beef (Juniors): sixth place, Addison Goddard.

• Junior Oral Reasons: fourth place, Emma Yochum.

• Overall Junior - Reserve Overall: Emma Yochum.

• Goats (Senior): 10th place, Blake Herdman.

• Hogs (Senior): ninth place, Blake Herdman.

• Sheep (Senior): 10th place, Carter Boyd.

• Beef (Senior): ninth place, Corbin Winkle.
