Local H&R Block awards $1,000 check

H&R Block is putting the “fun” back in refund season by giving away a total of $32 million in the first month of tax season.

April Hopper, a local winner of the H&R Block 1,000 Win $1,000 Daily Sweepstakes, celebrated at the H&R Block office at 134 North High Street in Hillsboro on Thursday afternoon. She was presented with a giant check.

Anyone who files their taxes at a participating H&R Block office by Feb. 15 can be automatically entered into the sweepstakes. A total of 32,000 people will win $1,000 from H&R Block. For more information, visit www.hrblock.com/grand.
