Lions hear Underground Railroad presentation

The Lynchburg Lions Club held its monthly dinner meeting on Oct. 24 at the Lions Building in Lynchburg.

The guest speaker for the evening was Carolyn Hastings. Hastings is a very knowledgeable member of the Historical Society. She gave a very interesting presentation about the Underground Railroad and its influence on the local area during the Civil War era.

Hastings’ husband, Don, accompanied her. Her stories and facts were fascinating, and the club wishes to thank her for the information.
