Linda Allen speaks to Mowrystown Lions Club about KAMP Dovetail

Linda Allen from SATH was the guest speaker at the Mowrystown Lions Club meeting held on April 13 at the Old Y Restaurant.

She presented information to the club about KAMP Dovetail. Initially, KAMP Dovetail averaged about 35 campers a year. Today, they are up to 300 overnight campers.

On a daily basis, they serve food to 800 campers and volunteers. They are looking for any clubs or organization to volunteer to serve food or in other capacities.

It is $40 to sponsor a child for camp and it costs SATH $250 per camper. However, they have many fundraisers to help raise money.

The Mowrystown Lions Club will team up with other Lions Clubs to help serve breakfast on Tuesday the week of camp (June 23) and will also help with the carnival and auction the Wednesday the week of camp (June 24).

Anyone interested in joining the Mowrystown Lions Club can contact Chuck Emery at 937-763-1549. The club meets the second Monday of each month at 7 p.m. at the Old Y Restaurant located off of U.S. 62 south of Hillsboro.
