Leesburg Library leaps into spring

  The Leesburg Library is once again celebrating National Humor Month by encouraging our young patrons to tell us a good old knee slapper during the month of April.  By doing so, they get a free trip to the treasure drawer to pick out a prize.  We’ll have some joke books available if they need help to pick out that perfect side-splitter.

              Our Knit Together group continues to meet every Thursday of each month from 5:30-7 PM.  Bring your current project and join us for some friendly knitting.  New members are always welcome. 

              SPARX, our teen book group meets on Thursday, April 8 at 5:30 PM to discuss Anne of Green Gables.  Pick up a copy of the book at the front desk and join us for fun and food!

We’ll also be celebrating National Library Week at the Leesburg Library from April 12-17. Join us for contests for patrons of all ages!  We would like to take this week to thank our patrons for their continued support and patronage.   We will have some delicious caramel corn to share with our patrons on Thursday, April 15, too!

              Awesome Book Club (our book group for 5th and 6th graders) meets on Monday, April 12 from 4-5 p.m.  Join Mrs. Reno to discuss A Wind in the Door by Madeleine L’Engle.  We’ll also have some book-related snacks and activities.  Copies of the book are available at the front desk.

              RRR adult book group meets at 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, April 15.  They will be discussing "The Help" by Kathryn Stockett and There are "No Children Here" by Alex Kotlowski.  Please feel free to join them for a lively discussion. 

              We continue to have lots of fun at our children’s story times on Thursday mornings.  Our Wee Ones (6-36 months) meet at 10 a.m. and our Tater Tots (3-5 yrs) meet at 10:30 a.m.  This month’s topics include Easter Parade, Brothers & Sisters, Dinosaurs (bring your favorite one to story time), It’s a Surprise! and Zipper Day/I Can Dress Myself.  Please call us if you need more information regarding our story time programs; we would love to have new “little ones” join us on Thursday mornings. 

In closing, we’re looking forward to having you stop in to see us during the month of April. So, what does the librarian say when she has to leave?  Time to book!
