KFC and Homer the Dog donate $1,156 to KAMP Dovetail

At this year’s Festival of the Bells, KFC ® sponsored, and Homer the Dog mascotted the annual Sidewalk Chalk Art Contest that was held on Friday, July 3. A total of $1,156 was donated to KAMP Dovetail.

Homer, who is the Highland County Chamber of Commerce mascot, was on site July 3 to greet participants as well being available for pictures. During the festival weekend, Homer fans were also sold.

All proceeds from the Sidewalk Chalk Art Contest and Homer fan sales were donated to S.A.T.H and KAMP Dovetail.

KAMP (Kids And Motivated People) Dovetail is a volunteer run summer camp sponsored by Supplementary Assistance to The Handicapped (SATH), a non-profit organization. The camp is for children with disabilities in Highland and surrounding counties.

“We, at KFC, want to give back to our communities and help these wonderful organizations that have a need,” said Keith Chambers, on behalf of the company.

KFC is the world’s largest Quick Service Chicken restaurant featuring delicious entrees such as Colonel Sanders Original Recipe®, Extra Crispy™ and Kentucky Grilled Chicken and is headquartered in Louisville, Ky.
