Muralist Pamela Kellough is wrapping up work on the C.S. Bell mural on West Main Street this week, with plans to resume the project in the spring.

Kellough told The Highland County Press that due to the unpredictable weather in the coming weeks, she thought that Nov. 11 may be her last day working on the project until the spring.

The Ross County-based artist and her husband, Gary, battled the strong winds Thursday as they worked in the alley opposite the Parker House lot in uptown Hillsboro.

As previously reported by Tim Koehl, the mural is part of a project by the Highland County Historical Society in “creating a history-based hospitality experience in the Hillsboro Historic District based on the contributions of The C.S. Bell Company.”

The society’s goal is to create a walking trail for visitors to see the mural and local bells from the company while learning about the C.S. Bell history.
