James, Sharon Simmons to celebrate 50th anniversary

Mr. and Mrs. James and Sharon Simmons of Lynchburg will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary Saturday, Nov. 23.

They were united in marriage at the Allensburg Church of Christ. They have three children, Vince Simmons (Peggy) of Lynchburg, Shane Simmons (Lora) of Lynchburg and Nita (Terry) Paris of Leesburg and grandchildren, Jessica (John Mahan), Trevin, Logan, Mackenzie and Brayden, and great-grandchildren Makayla and Macey.

James is retired from General Motors and is also a farmer. Sharon was able to be a sta-at-home mom. They enjoy traveling to bluegrass shows and spending time with their children and grandchildren.

They will celebrate with family and close friends on Nov. 23 at the Spillway Lodge.
