Infinity You and Me Hair Salon is now open in Hillsboro and accepting clients, with a grand opening scheduled next month.

An open house will be held Saturday, Sept. 19 from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. for the community to stop by and tour the new salon. The event will include refreshments and gift basket giveaways.

Since Infinity You and Me Hair Salon opened, customers’ names have been put in a raffle drawing for the grand opening. Anyone with an appointment at the salon between now and the grand opening will be eligible to win, and you can also enter the raffle during the open house.

The salon is owned by mother-daughter duo Jenni Huffman and Taylor Chaney. Huffman has been a co-owner of a salon for 20 years, and after growing up watching her mom run a business as a hairstylist, Chaney said she knew she wanted to do the same thing.

Upon completing cosmetology school, Chaney invited her mom to start a new adventure with her, as the recent graduate purchased the building formerly housing Magic Touch Salon in Hillsboro.

“I asked her if she wanted to come work with me,” Chaney said. “I’ve always known that I wanted to open my own salon. It’s kind of cool because you always hear about father-son businesses, but you never hear about mother-daughter businesses.”

Huffman said that Chaney “grew up in a beauty salon,” as Chaney said she has watched her mom work as hairstylist for years.

“She always had a love and a knack for it,” Huffman said.

In addition to Huffman and Chaney — who both own and work at the business — stylists include Heidi Davidson and Tina Walker. The salon also offers services from massage therapist Sherri Michael, lash artist Molly Gibson and microblade artist Alisha Patton.

Chaney, a 2018 graduate of Hillsboro High School, just passed her cosmetology state board test in August — although she said she’s been able to work in the salon under a work permit, due to COVID-19 — and is looking to build her clientele. She said she has done a lot of haircuts and is up on the latest trends.

“I’m excited for it all,” Chaney said of welcoming new customers. “I’m willing to try anything.”

The new owners have also worked hard to make improvements at the shop. The salon has been repainted and redecorated, inside and out, including additional lighting.

“It’s bright, cheery and inviting,” Huffman said.

The salon is located at 113 West Walnut St., Hillsboro. For an appointment or more information, call (937) 393-4074, or visit the salon on Facebook at https://www.facebook.com/Infinity-You-and-Me-Hair-Salon-108992744213506/
