The Homeless Shelter is in its tenth year of operation, and plans are being made for celebrating this special anniversary. Over the years, the Shelter has offered temporary housing for hundreds of individuals and families with children who were homeless and has provided thousands of meals and guidance and direction in how to find a permanent home.

Money-raising events for the benefit of the Shelter include a planned annual golf scramble on Saturday, July 12 and contributions from individuals, businesses and churches. One of the main sources of funding the Shelter receives requires matching funds from the community it serves. Without community support, the Shelter would not be eligible for this source of funding.

The Highland County Homeless Shelter is providing a valuable service to the community.
