Holtfield Coffee Station, Hillsboro FFA partnering on Mother's Day project

Holtfield Coffee Station plans to honor area mothers again this year through their Mother’s Day craft project.
The coffee shop’s baristas decorated small flower pots this week, which will be presented to the first 160 moms to visit the shop this year on May 8.
Each pot is hand-painted by a Holtfield employee. This year they partnered with Hillsboro FFA students as well, giving back to the schools while also being able to use flowers grown by Hillsboro’s greenhouse class.
“We teamed up with the Hillsboro FFA and bought flowers from their flower shop,” Holtfield Coffee Station manager Lacey Ballein told The Highland County Press. “In return, they planted them for us.”
This is the third straight year for the project. In 2020 — during the pandemic, when the coffee shop was closed to outside customers — Ballein distributed larger flower pots to drive-thru traffic. Last year, 180 small pots were painted and given away to honor Holtfield’s loyal customers on Mother’s Day.
