Historical Society presents encore of Elected Sheriffs exhibit

A special encore demonstration of the Highland County Historical Society’s History of Highland County Elected Sheriffs was presented Tuesday night at the Highland House Museum.

The presentation and exhibit were researched, gathered and presented by HCHS Board of Trustees member Kati Burwinkel.

Burwinkel’s first presentation of the exhibit on Sept. 30 was given to a standing-room-only crowd that included current sheriff Donnie Barrera and former sheriffs Tom Horst and Ron Ward.

Burwinkel spent about eight months compiling the history and many photos for her presentation and display, which includes information on each of Highland County’s elected sheriffs.
