Mary Jane McBride
1919-1972

David and Jane McBride co-authored five of the most important books of information for Highland County historians.

Because of their work, volumes of family history have been preserved.

The McBrides compiled “Cemetery Inscriptions of Highland County, Ohio” and “Marriage Records of Highland County, Ohio (1805-1880),” both of which list thousands of individuals from Highland County.

“Wills, Administrations, Guardianships and Adoptions of Highland County, Ohio” extracts information from hundreds of legal documents.

“Records of the Recorder’s Office” and “Common Pleas Records of Highland County, Ohio” extract land and court records.

David, an attorney, and Jane, a trained photographer, gave researchers in this county a bounty of history and information that is available in libraries across America.
