Hillsboro resident Nancy Cole publishes children's book 'Be Careful'

Lead Summary
By
The Highland County Press-
Nancy Cole, a resident of Hillsboro, has recently published a children’s book, “Be Careful.”

Cole is 70 years old, with “Be Careful” being her first published book. Cole has been a nurse since 1983 and has worked with children for most of her adult life, including running a large day care in Virginia with her husband of 47 years. Her husband, a Vietnam veteran, passed away nearly four years ago from complications of Agent Orange exposure.

She was a foster mother turned adoptive mother, and as a mother and grandmother, she often told the children “Be careful” as they would head out the door.

According to the book’s description, “‘Be Careful’ is a book full of illustrations that children can relate to. The simple words and repetition of words will allow even the youngest beginners to read this book. There is music and words in the book, so it can be read or sung. It illustrates the importance of what you hear, what you see, what you say, what you do and where you go.”

“Be Careful” was published in October and can be purchased on Amazon, Barnes & Noble or Apple Books through the iTunes store. For more information on the book or links to purchase “Be Careful,” visit the publisher’s site at https://covenantbooks.com/books/?book=be-careful.
