Hillsboro home featured in 'Simply Country' book series

A Hillsboro home has been published in the book series “Simply Country” by Judy Condon.

The book, titled “Little Bit of Country,” is the newest book in the series.

The home is located in Hillsboro and owned by Rick and Jennifer Jenkins, who purchased the home in August 2011. The home is a reproduction 6,800 square-foot center hall colonial, complete with three finished floors.

The Jenkins’ home featured hand-hewn beams, wide plank flooring, brick entries and a David Smith Custom collected kitchen.

Mr. and Mrs. Jenkins restore and custom finish homes using reclaimed items. Their home is furnished with early antiques from the late 1700s to mid-1800s, mostly pre-Civil War era.

The Jenkins’ home, which is located at 433 Danville Pike, will also be featured on the Highland County Historical Society Home Tour on Sunday, June 28. For more information on this upcoming event, please contact Avery Applegate at the Highland County Historical Society.
