On Oct. 3, the Hillsboro Great Oaks FFA Chapter began their biggest fundraiser of the year. The annual fruit sale supports many of the events that members of the local FFA Chapter get to experience, such as National FFA Convention, Career Development Events, Ohio FFA Camp Muskingum, State FFA Convention and so much more. This year the fruit sale included many products for customers to choose from. These include oranges, grapefruit, pears, apples, nuts, barbeque sauce, meats, cheese and so much more! Most of our fruit and nuts come from farmers in Florida, Apples from Karnes orchard, and our barbeque from D.B. Yummers.
The last day for FFA members to turn in fruit order forms was Nov. 8. Since then the chapter has been adding up the grand total of fruit sales in order to see how much they raised. Now after all the sales have been accounted for, the Hillsboro Great Oaks FFA Chapter is proud to announce that their members have sold over $41,000 from the annual fruit sale. This was made possible because of 108 members who sold fruit this year.
The fruit and other products will be arriving at the Hillsboro High School during the first week of December. Once all of the fruit is sorted and ready to go, the Hillsboro Great Oaks FFA members will be very busy preparing and delivering the many orders to eager customers. Make sure to be on the lookout for the fruit that you have bought this year.
