Hillsboro Garden Club holds Fall Auction

By Jennifer West

The Hillsboro Garden Club met for its annual Fall Plant, Bulb and Garden-related auction at the Wharton Building. Our thanks to the Fair Board for allowing the club to use the building.

The evening started with the auction, run by Auctioneer Shelly Rayburn and assistants Avacyn Frances, Henry Hottle and Joe York. Assistant Treasurer and Vice President Cindy Roche' handled the sales.

The auction was very successful. Due to the lateness of the hour, the business part of the evening was skipped.  Hostesses Connie Hilliard and Helen Roe served a delightful fall-themed snack of pumpkin treats and apple cider.

The next meeting will be held Tuesday, Oct. 27 at 6:30 p.m. We hope to return to Floral Hall on the fairgrounds.  All gardeners are welcome to join us!
