The 2014 Highland County Fair was a success for the Hillsboro FFA beef exhibitors.

There are 14 exhibitors for beef cattle in the Hillsboro FFA Chapter. They include Hope Tira, Meredith Oglesby, Halee Allen, Hunter Sheeley, Emily Earley, Lane Hetzel, Taylor Remsing, Chase Colliver, Robbie Miller, Jireh Vance, Mackenzie Oglesby, Camryn Remsing, Lauren Grover and Hillary Hamilton.

On Tuesday, Sept. 2, Taylor Remsing took reserve sweepstakes showman in beef showmanship. Hope Tira, along with Brandon Elmore, both took first in their classes for showmanship. Lauren Grover, along with Meredith Oglesby, both took second in their classes also for showmanship.

On Thursday, Sept. 4, Meredith Oglesby took reserve champion Simmental heifer. After, Taylor Remsing took first in her class and went on to winning reserve in her division for the feeder calf show.

Overall, the 2014 fair paid off for the exhibitors contributing all their hard work into their SAE project. Everyone enjoyed themselves, from showing to seeing friends and family. Hopefully, next year will be even better.
