Highland SWCD hosting educational event on maple syrup process Feb. 21
The Highland Soil & Water Conservation District invites the community to reserve your spot now to see how maple syrup is made Feb. 21 at 9 a.m. at 4885 Stanforth Lane, Hillsboro.
Grace Allen and her family will be leading guests through the entire maple syrup process with a chance to sample the maple syrup along the way. You will get to see how the maple sap is extracted from the trees, visit the sugar shack and learn the history of the operation.
Logan McConnaughey will help you learn about pollinators and introduce you to the programs offered through the Natural Resource Conservation Service.
The goal of this outside event, "Ag in the County," is to provide opportunities for the community to learn about agricultural locations in Highland County and interact with others.
Pre-registration is required by Feb. 13. Call the Highland SWCD office at (937) 820-5197 to register.
