Carol Hottle will be at the Highland House Museum at 2 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 21 for a reading.

Carol grew up on a farm in Highland County near Hillsboro. She graduated from Hillsboro High School and Miami University.

She writes poetry and short stories and has taught poetry to adults and children. In her writing she elevates her human experience through the joys of self-expression. Her poetry has been published in Sing! Heavenly Muse, Farm and Ranch Living, Highland County Journal, Terra Incognita, and Love Continuous. Her poems on the Pacific Northwest are soon to be published in the anthology "Just Imagine: Oregon Horizons."

Carol’s poetry comes from the heart. Growing up on the farm, she discovered her connection to God, nature, and life and death – and the importance of relating to others fairly, kindly, and honestly in a small town.
