Highland County Shepherds Club crowns 2019 lamb and wool queen, princesses

On Aug. 7, the Highland County Shepherds Club held a regular business meeting. The highlight of the evening was the crowning of the 2019 lamb and wool queen and 2019 lamb and wool princesses.
The club is proud to announce the new royalty as:
• Queen Chandra Hill, 15, is a student at Whiteoak High School. She has exhibited lambs for seven years. Hill is a member of the Mowrystown FFA Chapter, where she serves as reporter.
She is a member of the National Honor Society, plays varsity softball, is on the Whiteoak Shaffer softball team and plays volleyball. She actively participates in the Day of Giving, Thanksgiving Day program, Bright Local Food Pantry and the Antique Machinery Tractor Show.
• Princess Evelyn Roehm, 11, is a student at Fairfield Local Schools. She has exhibited and raised sheep since she was 6 years old. She has started her own flock of Southdown ewes along with her family's club lamb operation.
She actively promotes her sheep on the OSIA (Ohio Sheep Improvement Association) LEAD Show Circuit, the Ohio State Fair and the North American International Livestock Expo.
Roehm also travels to compete in Guys and Gals Wool lead competitions to promote the lamb and wool industry. She currently serves as president of the Highland Harvesters 4-H Club.
• Princess Josie Pfeiffer, 10, is a student at St. Louis elementary school. This is her first year exhibiting lambs at the Highland County Fair. She plays piano, loves to swim and read, is on the XCEL Gold gymnastics team at her gym and plays soccer for Eclipse Select and SAY teams. She is the health and safety officer for the Highland Buckeyes 4-H Club.
These young ladies will serve as youth ambassadors for the local sheep industry. The club is proud of their dedication and commitment as youth sheep exhibitors and aspiring agriculturalists. Congratulations!
