Highland County Republican Club donates to hurricane relief efforts in North Carolina
The Highland County Republican Club voted Monday night to donate $500 to Samaritan’s Purse to go toward their western North Carolina relief fund, according to club president Chuck Emery.
Samaritan’s Purse “is responding to deadly Hurricane Helene across a broad expanse,” their website at samaritanspurse.org says. For western North Carolina specifically, Samaritan’s Purse has been providing generators, emergency supplies, food, water, generators, fuel, Starlink systems, heaters, solar lights and blankets, according to their website.

Also during the club’s meeting, member Dick Donley was honored for his “many hours and trips he makes for the party” as a longtime volunteer,” Emery said.
