Director Jennifer West and Assistant Director Joanna Rocheleau of the Highland County District Library visited the Towne Club meeting Tuesday, May 14 at the lovely home of Pat Holthouse to share the library's plans for the Rocky Fork Lake area library branch.

According to West, the tentative plan is for the new library to be open by August.

The library will provide computer and internet access to the public as well as children's story times, a popular collection of items to be checked out, wi-fi, a small business center where people can make copies, scan items and send faxes as needed.

"We are very excited about providing library services to the Rocky Fork Lake community," West said.

Items not immediately available can be provided through the SEO Consortium of which HCDL is a member, West said.

"There will be a dedicated library staff to serve the community, and we expect this to be a very successful venture. The Highland County District Library board members are to be thanked for this. They are excellent stewards of the HCDL library."
