Want to learn healthy ways to fix your favorite holiday snacks? Then attend the next "Feeling Your Best" Support Group at Adena Medical Center on Thursday, Dec. 10 from 3:30-4:30 pm, where "Healthy Holiday Snacks" will be the featured topic.
"Feeling Your Best" is a free quarterly support group for those who have participated in Adena's Cardiopulmonary Rehab Program, in addition to any interested member of the community. December's meeting will feature tips on ways to adjust a favorite holiday snack or dessert in to a more healthy option. Samples and recipes will be available.
The Adena Cardiopulmonary Rehab Program is available in Chillicothe and Waverly for patients who are prescribed rehab from their physician and have experienced cardiac events such as open heart surgery, valve replacement or stents, and lung issues including transplants or COPD.
Tailored to each patient's specific needs, the eight to twelve week outpatient program provides routine exercise, monitoring of blood pressure and saturation levels, teaching, and nutrition counseling, all intended to help the participant with a change of lifestyle that is paramount for the patient's overall cardiac and lung health.
The "Feeling Your Best" Support Group featuring Healthy Holiday Snacks will be held in the Hospital's Hopewell Room, located to the right just inside the West Entrance at Adena Medical Center in Chillicothe. All members of the community are most welcome to attend. For more information, please call 740.779.7891.
