Greening Greater Greenfield to host 5th annual Oktoberfest

Greening Greater Greenfield (G3) will host its fifth annual Greenfield Oktoberfest on Saturday, Sept. 26.
Like always, the festivities will begin at 5 p.m., but this year, the location will be moved closer to the village center and will occupy the first block of South Washington Street.
The John Baal Biergarten, under the direction of the St. Benignus Knights of Columbus, will open with the ceremonial and traditional “Breaking of the Pretzel” at 6 p.m.
Music this year will be provided by the Oom-pah-sters German Band all the way from Tennessee, and a wide variety of German foods will once again be served up by the Greenfield Lions Club.
Lots of thought has been put into making Oktoberfest a festival for all ages. Besides bier, food and music, activities will include:

• German Cake Walk; and
• Dance Group Performance.
