Girl Scouts tour Batter Up Bakery in Leesburg

Lead Summary

On Tuesday, Feb. 18, members of Daisy Troop #134 in Hillsboro toured the Batter Up Bakery in Leesburg.

The troop got to see how various cakes, donuts, and confections are made from scratch as well as learn about the different aspects of food safety, cleanliness, and hard work that go into the daily operations of a successful hometown bakery.

The girls got the opportunity to decorate and "taste test” cake pops from the bakery which, hands down, was their favorite part of the event.

All the girls were very impressed with what they learned – and these girls know their cookies!

Daisy Troop #134 would like to thank Casey McIntosh and the entire Batter Up Bakery crew for allowing them to come visit, learn, and enjoy some delicious homemade goodies!
